Easter

I can't believe I am a week behind in my blog!!!! Oh well, I guess that means there will always be something to post.
I'm not sure how many noticed, but the blog address has changed. I am slowly turning this into an amazing website, so look for fun changes in the coming weeks.

So back to Easter....

The Saturday before Easter we were invited to the Caceres' house for their annual Easter Egg hunt. It was soooo amazing! here are some photos of all the fun!

Here are all the kids lined up, after the dads hid the eggs:

Josiah waiting for the directions & the rules.

All the parents lined up taking photos while Michael begins to explain the rules.

Michael is explaining the special eggs that were hidden. They had a special prize- which we will get into later.

Katrina and her mom enjoying the moment.

I really don't know how they got all those kids to stand there for so long! But they were dismissed by age and off they went.

Josiah and I went around the yard looking for eggs. Each kid had 10 eggs to find, plus a bag of goodies and various candy and blank eggs, including the gold, silver & camo eggs with special prizes.

Someone thought it would be funny to hide Josiah's stuff up high. We had a fun time trying to find them, and he had to come up with ways of getting them down. In this photo he is getting ready to stand on a tree stump next to the tree, but I decided to help him out. We really had a great time wandering the yard.

Meanwhile....
I caught David with sweet little Dakota Lambing in his arms. He took her around to find all her eggs so Shane & Kristi could help their other two kids. For those that know David, know that he doesn't like to hold other people's kids, so I was shocked and so impressed when I looked over and saw that he had done this... what a great guy I have.

Josiah got done and we decided to walk the yard one more time for a prize egg. Josiah spotted something shiney from across the yard, he ran to it and sure enough it was a golden egg.

The prize was $5.00, which to Josiah meant the world to him. He has been saving his own money for a new webkin, but I will get to that story later.

Here is a photo of all the kids that participated in the hunt.

And then this picture just because I looked over and found this so amusing.... Josiah was watching Micah draw on the ground with chalk, but the funny part is the bubble stick in his hands (his prize for the day)and a half eaten chocolate bunny.

Sunday morning I did something I haven't done in years.... I went to service. Usually I am serving somewhere in church, but today I took my boys and got to enjoy service with them. It was so great to be surrounded by the most important people in my life and rejoice that Jesus died on the cross for our sins & on the third day rose again! what an amazing gift He has given us!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all had a great Easter as well!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Wordless Wednesday

Ok Wordless Wednesday is REALLY hard! So today I found some good kid quotes for you to enjoy:

When your mother is mad and asks you, "Do I look stupid?" it's best not to answer her.
Megham, age 13

You only have one mom, and you should take care of her.
Sean, age 12

When you complain about doing the dishes, you usually get stuck doing them more often.
Nichole, age 14

You should never pick on your sister when she has a baseball bat in her hands.
Joel, age 12

School lunches stick to the wall.
Patrick, age 10

You should never underestimate a child's ability to get into more trouble.
Ann, age 15

One of the best ways to find out about a person's character is to play Monopoly with them.
Ellana, age 15

Life is filled with ups and downs but most of the time I'm going sideways.
Leslie, age 11

When I see you, my eyes turn into little hearts. Cameron Age 4

My Trip to Vancouver!

Wow! I have a LOT to blog in the next couple of days.

So I will start with Thursday. On Thursday morning my mom & I headed up to Vancouver BC for our Bryan Adams concert. We made it up there in 90 minutes and had no trouble at the border. It was pure luck. Even though it isn't that far from home, it is really wierd driving in another country. The signs are different and the speed limits aren't followed and there are not nearly as many road signs as we have in Washington. So we spent the day wondering around downtown going into stores we can't afford to shop in and having a great time. I have never spent time in Vancouver, so it was very intersting. By 3:00 pm we both found a starbucks and crashed in the big comfy chairs and enjoyed people watching. It was right across the street from the church where Bryan was playing and we weren't suppose to line up before 6:30.

Well we jumped in line at 5:30, since this guy had been standing there since 3:00- I wasn't going to risk getting a bad seat. So we hung around the church until 8:30! 3 hours in line- I must be crazy. Here are some more great church pictures. I loved this church and the stain glass windows.

So when they finally escorted my line in we got FRONT ROW!!!!!! Now, my camera does NOT take good photos with out a flash. I need to find a camera that does. Anyone have a digital camera that takes good photos in dark places without a flash??? Let me know!!! So a lot of these are out of focus or jacked up- but you get the point: View from my seat, with no zoom.

For the Encore Keith Scott, Bryan's band mate and also cowriter of some of his best songs, came up on stage.

At the end of the concert he came over the the girls a few down from me.

Then he came to ME! I gave him a sharpie & a cd jacket for his autograph. In the photo you can see my pen lid in his mouth- kinda gross, but so cool all the same. LOL.

He asked me what my name was and I told him. He still didn't spell it right but the question mark made it all ok.

It really was am AMAZING concert!!!!!

New Car

Well, we got rid of the Alero in order to save some money and bought a new/used car.
It's a great commuter car. Good gas mileage and hey, it will be a LOT of fun in the summer.

My own Heaven

For our anniversary David got me a heating mattress pad. We put it on the bed last night and I slept like a baby. It is the most wonderful thing in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD. I can't believe it. The only negative is that when David got up this morning his side of the bed was cold, so it wasn't as nice to curl up in his spot. Oh well, I guess I will have to stay on my warm side of the bed. Plus the fact that getting out bed in the morning is going to get really really hard!

New Blog

Ok, I started a blog of "randomness" it may offend at times and it may cause you to think. Bottom line I need a place to vent or to ponder thoughts. I hope ya'll check it often and comment or debate the issue.

Enjoy!

Please note, if you offend easy it probably isn't a place for you. It's just me dumping my mind with stuff that is going on or stuff that I am struggling with. You never know, maybe you have the answer.

Wordless Wednesday

I wish I could explain why I used this photo today....I wanted to put a photo of Bryan on here since the excitement of tomorrow night is building, but when I saw this photo I had to share. I'm not allowed to say where the concert is, but this is the building it's in, so I hope to take a photo similar to this one myself :-).

My Fabulous Weekend!

Ok, so Friday I was back to work. I tried to take it easy but of course, I didn't succeed. So when I got home Josiah & I curled up in bed and watched a movie. It was some nice cuddle time. David went out to do some errands.

Saturday my mom and I headed fort he annual quilt show in Monroe.

I saw some amazing quilts and my mom and I actually found some great quilts and I now have three more on my list to do. I PROMISE not to start them until I am done with the others LOL.

I love this one, it's lady bugs:

Here are some "Scrap quilts" I hope to do some of these once I get my scraps organized. (Now that is really funny).

Then on Saturday night some friends joined us at Benihana's for dinner. It was a lot of fun. Michael & Katrina Caceres celebrated 16 years on friday night and the Jordan's had never been to benihana's so it was a blast. We then ended up at starbucks and laughed the night away.

And one last picture, last weekend we went to Color Me Mine for some fun pottery painting time. So her is the finished product. It was so much fun!! next time i need a bowl :-).

So last Friday I got an email from the fan club saying that two tickets were available for a Fan Club member, but you had to guess the secret location of the concert. So off I went to google to search for a venue in Vancouver that would be the right size for this kind of thing... and guess what I WON!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it???????? Now comes the logistics. The concert is Thursday night so I am trying to figure out if I am going to stay the night or drive back and fourth in one evening!!! oh my goodness!!!!! This is SOOOOOOO exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Quilting Update

This weekend was the church quilting retreat. I was trying to keep it easy, but low & behold, it didn't work :-).
Here is the update on the crown royal quilt:

I need to get a few of the squares fixed, once that is done I can start sewing the rows together. I hope to get it going and finished in he next week or so.

Also, this last weekend we had other things going on.... so here are the details.
On Friday, Josiah & Alex had a dentist appointment. This was Josiah's first trip to the dentist and he giggled the ENTIRE time. the hygentist said it completely made her day that he was so giggly and easy to work with.

Both boys got a semi-clean bill of health. Both have one "surface" cavity so we are going in to get those fixed soon.

Then after the quilting retreat I was lucky enough to join a group of women from our Sunday School class to paint some pottery, a secret love of mine that I wish I could do a LOT more often. I didn't get many photos cause Katrina is wonderful taking a ton of photos with her camera, so I just got mine out long enough to get a picture of her and Theresa enjoying their first trip to the pottery place. I will post a photo of my plate when I pick it up on Wednesday.

Then on Sunday the Jordan's invited us over for lunch. I got my camera out when the kids were playing. It was a blast to watch them enjoy each others company and get to know the Jordan's a little more. I can't wait to spend more time with them.

Syrah, Sadie, and Josiah playing:

Alex just hanging out

And this final photo sums up the whole FUN weekend:

This was taken Saturday night, I caught up with David and Josiah at Boston's after painting pottery and it wasn't long before Josiah curled up on my lap and konked out- too funny since Josiah wouldn't even wake back up for his ice cream.

It was a GREAT weekend!! I need some rest now, but I had such a great time that I would do it all over again!

More Photos

Things have been so busy for us! Sorry for the lack of posts, but today & tomorrow I am home sick because of a bad lupus flair, so I hope to catch up on all my blogging!

Two weeks ago Josiah came down with the flu. On Saturday morning he seemed to be doing MUCH better. David had to go into work for an hour so I took Josiah back to the Seattle Library to find the "red room" that Kim told us about. And look we found it!!!!

the whole floor is red and we had a good time wandering around. We also found some more fun books to read, including one called "Cori Wants to Play Football" it's about a little girl named "Cori" (Spelled the right way and everythign!) who wants to play football! it was so neat.

here are some photos of us hanging out on the 10th floor enjoying our books & the view.

Oh & did I mention that while Josiah was sick he pulled out his front teeth?

By the time we got home Josiah took another turn for the worse. The library ended up being too much for him and he started to get sick again.
