Lewis Update

We have some news to share and I think it would be easy to just post it all here...

Back in September we learned that my sister's husband, Luke, was dealing with declining Kidney function and his long term prognosis would require a transplant. David immediately offered to be tested. In October we learned he was a match, but Luke’s sister was a better match so they were moving forward with her testing.

We received a call a few weeks ago that Luke’s sister had tested out and David was the next possible option. On March 8-9th David will travel to Duke University in North Carolina to complete the testing. With his health we expect him to pass all the tests and be cleared for surgery.

As of right now the surgery is scheduled for March 16th. David and I plan on traveling to North Carolina on the 14th of March. I will stay for 10 days and David will stay for approximately three weeks. I will keep everyone up to date with my facebook status’s on the day of the surgery and afterwards, so if you would like to be kept up to date, make sure you are subscribed to my updates. (I will be keeping information off my news feed until David has completed the final testing).

Please feel free to ask us questions. I will post updates on facebook and possibly update this blog

03/13/12 UPDATE: We have been cleared to leave for North Carolina tomorrow and the surgery will be on Friday. There is still a small chance David could still test out, but the doctors are confident he wont.

I will not committ to keeping anyone up to date individually on all that happens on Friday, so please keep your eyes on my blog or facebook.

I am SO greatful for my amazing friends who have stepped up to help out. Josiah will be staying with good friends of ours, and visiting another family. Please continue/begin to pray for all involved as this journey continues.

When I got this book and agreed to read it and do a review on it I started to wonder why I am so addicted to any book that Max Lucado puts out. As I began to read I was able to answer that question. God uses Max in amazing ways to remind me of things I know and teach me new things.

I am not a huge reader by any stretch. Actually as many of you know I don't like to read. But this book drew me in and I instantly was attached.

Once again Max usues personal stories that I can relate to in order to get his point across. He tells me things I need to hear and uses examples that I come across every day.
This is another GREAT book and easy read. I love how he put prayers at the end of each chapter and the optional discussiion and action guide in the back challenges my mind and heart to think and act on what I have learned.

I miss you!

I miss my blog. I think it's time to pick it back up. As much as I LOVE Facebook and the ease of uploading photos I fear that some people are missing all that's going on in the Lewis world. Will be posting soon. Going to Utah tomorrow to see DJ, Ali, Gabe & the new baby!

D23 Day one

So I want to put all my D23 thoughts down before I forget any more. First D23 is a club for Disney fans and this weekend is the first ever D23 expo. I was lucky enough to get to spend the weekend in Anaheim with Kim expiering it!

First we were both awake early so we went and got in line at 6:30. When we walked in the door we went the right way and ended up towards the front of the line for the Bob Iger talk.

Two hours later we were ushered into the arena (after checking our cameras & phones at the door where we got to sit 7 rows back from the stage and right next to the Disney Legends section. I was in awe... Disney stars were just FEET from me. It was way too cool. I was shaking with excitment.

Bob came out on stage and it was so great. He had some amazing things to say and I really enjoyed listening to him talk. We were then surprised with a screening of the first 30 minutes of the princess and the frog (the new Disney movie). Some of it was still in outlines. The movie looks super cute. then Bob talked some more about the company and D23.

After Bob was done talking it was time for the Disney legends Ceremony. What is a disney legend? it's the highest honor in the company, people who have made an impact on the company are inducted in as "legends". Today 10 people where inducted. The speeches were amazing, the voice of donald duck & goofy both were there, I was 5 feet from Roy Disney and Betty White also made us laugh. Then Robin Williams came out and he was a kick.

We then had lunch, went shopping and headed back for the "ABC's of Disney" on our way in we say Donny Osmond and his dancing partner and two other dancers from Dancing with the Stars giving press interviews. Plus the guy who played Al Bundy.

We went in and learned all about the new shows and got to see Courtney Cox, Patricia Arquette (SP?), Kelsy Grammar, and Al bundy talk about their new shows. i am actually really excited for the fall shows!

our next seminar was filled so we headed to the park for a little bit of walking and some shopping. So now we are back at the hotel ready to collapse... until tomorrow...

Bug Boy's help

I am hoping "Bug Boy" will stop by my blog and tell me WHAT this is. Mr. Lewis brought it to me and I have to say it FREAKED me out.

Mr. Lewis really wants to know what in the world this gross thing is. The "tail" is actually two very long legs or something.
Please help.
