It's Baseball Season!

Tuesday, April 25, 2006

David & I got to enjoy a cruise on Sunday night with our Church. It was the annual Volunteer appreciation dinner and the church was able to get everyone a free cruise through the budget sound. At first 3 hours sounded like a long time but it was a beautiful Seattle afternoon. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the olympic mountains (something I will never take for granted). The emarld city is beautiful when the sun is shining - although very cold on the water.

Easter at our house!
They boys enjoyed a Sunday all dressed up and ready for church. I think Easter is by far my favorite Holiday... the praise music is so uplifting and it's so refreshing to celebrate the joy of His resurrection. What a great day, and the sun even came out to shine down!
Instead of dying Easter Eggs this year I talked Josiah into making a cake. We had loads of fun!

I remember 6th grade camp so long ago, I remember the feeling of this was the last fun thing I get to do in elementary school. I remember the excitement and the bus ride, the friends and the activities. However, today I got to witness that anticipation of Alex heading off to 5th grade camp (in Mukilteo 6th grade is in middle school). As "cool" as he was acting about having to go camping I could tell there was some excitment there. It's hard to believe how old he is getting. His teacher told me last week that "He entered 5th grade as a boy and he is leaving a man" such a sad fact.

The other sad fact that I am finding very difficult to accept is that Alex has a "girlfriend"... don't worry, I asked him what that meant and so far it doesn't mean kissing or holding hands, it just means that they like each other. When did he get to that stage? I made him point her out to me this morning when I dropped him off, and I had to refrain from saying anything to her especially since I promised not to embarrased him.

Alex is now my height, again, when did all this happen??? I have really started to cherish the moments I have with him, as he reminds me, he will be driving in 4 1/2 years (AAHHH).
He is such a great kid, it's just hard to accept that he is growing. I am very proud at how we all have pitched in and raised him, I get so many comments about how well mannered he is.

As you can probably tell Alex has only been gone for a few hours and I miss him so much, I am looking foward to having him come home on friday- the wierd part about missing him is that he is gone all the time to grandma's for a week, to his dad's once a week and so on and yet I have never missed him more than I do now. I guess it is finally hitting me that the little red headed boy I used to carry around is now a young man with friends, and girlfriends, and a social life.
I just dread the day he asks to go hang out at the mall....
To be continued...

No need to set the nose!

Good news, David doesn't need his nose set. He got the stitches out and hopefully the swelling will go down soon. It is still fun to tease him about how he caught the ball, and he gets a new glove sometime this week. I hope he learned his lesson. :-)

6 Years!

wow, it has hard to believe how much time flies. This years anniversary was very eventful. It all started when I sent David off to softball practice. He decided to try and catch a softball with his face. He continued at practice, thinking that even if his nose was bleeding on the inside & out it couldn't be that bad.
Once he got home he finally decided that he may need some stitches, so 2 1/2 hours later, 3 stitches & a broken nose- Yes it broke- we were off for our celebration! We decided to splurge this year and go on the Dinner Train. it was so wonderful, except for the fact that David get's motion sickness.
This will be a day I never forget. :-). We find out later this week if David needs his nose reset. Oh, and did I mention that he also tried to catch the ball with his arm? yeah, there is a huge black bruise there too, it just wasn't a good day for softball.

Love you all!
Cori

Josiah & mommy went bowling on Saturday with our friends Miss Kim & Mikayla. We had a lot of fun and Josiah even bowled a 70! We did have to spend some time learning to roll the ball and not throw it down the lane. It was loads of fun! Mikayla bowled a 95 her first game, she had a few spares and even a couple of stikes, not bad for a four year old. Lucky for Kim and I we both did pretty well and we weren't beaten by the kids.

Many have asked to see the quilt I made for Josiah. It is actually a Quillow and it folds into a spiderman pillow that is sewn onto the back. If you look closely I have quilted a Spiderweb into the middle of the quilt.

Josiah loves seeing himself on camera!

So, it's already started out to a busy year. Hard to believe that Alex has baseball tryouts on Saturday and David's softball sign ups are next week. I started my new position at Disney, it was a lateral move in terms of title, but the workload sky rocketed, so much so, that I don't even want to go near a computer when I get home. Although that is mainly cause I am a workaholic and I know the first thing I'm gonna do is check my email. David's job is also keeping busy. We both walk out of the building with a sigh of relief. It is nice to come home together. People warned us about working together, but it isn't that bad. We've had our moments, but we would have had those moments anyways.
I hope you all are doing well.
Love,
Cori

David & Cori got to enjoy last weeks Seahawks game where the Hawks won against the Redskins. We had a great time and David lost his voice. It will be exciting to go to even more games next year!

Another quite week here in the Lewis household. We are all just trying to get back to a normal life after the holidays. Sorry no new pictures to share... maybe I will have to get my camera out. :-) Kim where are those pictures of Chris & Gunnar that you promised?

Every year I try to get a family photo in front of the tree and this year was no different. Although every picture we took Josiah was looking somewhere other than the camera. This was also the first and probably the last time I ever will make the boys were the same sweaters on the same day. :-). It was sad to take the tree down today, and Josiah was heartbroken to see the joy of Christmas leave our house in the matter of moments.
Now that Christmas is over it is time to look foward to a new year and new adventures. It should be a lot of fun.
Hope to see you all soon!

Christmas at our House!

Christmas Eve we had the Lewis family over for gifts. And on Christmas morning Cori's parents came over to open gifts and enjoy watching the boys open their gifts. Josiah got his own Army gear to wear so he matches his uncle Nathan. Alex received a new gameboy & both boys got their own bean bag chair. Hope you all got to enjoy a great Christmas with your families.

Cori, Alex & Josiah went to Leavenworth on Saturday for the Tree lighting ceremony. Leavenworth is a bavarian town just east of the cascade mountains. We had a great time playing in the snow & shopping!

Have I mentioned how cute my kids are?
